In January 2000, Board member Lael Kovtun created and chaired the Symphony Stars. The Stars are a group of music lovers who receive the benefit of being Symphony “insiders” and enjoy establishing relationships with our conducting staff and musicians. Stars membership is presently more than 150 members strong.
Yearly membership benefits and activities for the Symphony Stars include:
| • | At least three “members only” daytime functions (luncheons, private recitals etc.) |
| • | Festive evening party, “Stars On Stage” featuring a performance by Symphony musicians. |
| • | Opportunity to host a musical event in the members’ home or place of business. |
| • | Full access to the Revelle Room and Vip Tent during Masterworks and Summer Pops intermissions. |
| • | Special name recognition in each monthly Symphony program book. |
| • | A direct line of contact for individual member assistance- Chaz Dykes (619) 615-3908. |
| • | The most wonderful benefit of all is the knowledge the San Diego Symphony is stronger because of Stars support! |
To join and maintain membership in the Stars, members donate a minimum of $1,100 each year to the Stars program. Because membership benefits extend one year from the date joined, patrons may become a Symphony Star at any time.
